Hello, i'm lauren.
I am an artist living and working in the greater Portland, Oregon area. Like many others, I’ve fallen completely in love with the Pacific Northwest and spend as much time as I can exploring the natural beauty of nature. My favorite food is macaroni and cheese, I’m totally a cat person, a little obsessed with tea, and spend too much money on novelty socks.
I seriously picked up a camera in 2010, after historically being known as the girl to take hundreds of disposable camera pictures of neighborhood cats. Nowadays, I photograph weddings and conceptual photos and like to say the camera is my excuse to just meet talented and inspiring people.
I photograph because it is the most effective way I can express how I see the beauty in the world. Ever since I was little, I have had an intense need to document every fragment of life. Maybe that comes from my fleeting memory, or maybe it comes from my ancestry (I come from a long line of photographic and word artists), but I have to document. Those small, intimate scenes are of the greatest value to me--a look, a scent, a fading winding road, a splash of water with a rainbow, light projecting glistening trees onto the wall--those are the moments with which I fuel myself. And when it comes to photographing others, I want to be able to share with you my unique perspective of the world, and maybe see those little moments with new care and love.
