FAQs

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I love traveling and am willing to explore worldwide for your big day. Travel expenses are already included in every wedding package, but if you are getting married in Oregon or near:
Anchorage AK
Oklahoma City, OK
Clayton, GA
Aukland, NZ
then the traveling fee is reduced because I have lodging available to me. I am equally comfortable driving a few hours or flying to the other side of the world.

Do we get the rights to photos?

You do not get exclusive rights to the photos, but I am pretty lenient when it comes to what you're allowed to do with the photos. You are more than welcome (and I encourage it!) to use your photos on social media and wherever else you like, I just ask that you give me credit. I also allow you to print your photos wherever you like, though an internal ordering option is also available to you.

How do we reserve you for our wedding or family shoots?

For weddings, when you sign the contract, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due, with the remaining balance due two weeks before the wedding date. However, I am flexible when it comes to payments, so just let me know your situation and we can set up a monthly plan. For other portrait shoots, the full price is due the day of the shoot.

Do you suggest a "first look"?

This one is a bit harder for me to answer, as I see the pros and cons to both. I go into more detail with this with my prospective wedding clients, but suffice to say it depends on what you want, and I am equally comfortable photographing with or without a first look.

Do you offer engagement photos with your wedding prices?

If you choose to have me as your engagement photographer as well as your wedding photographer, I offer a reduced rate that is worked into your overall pricing. I also encourage engagement shoots as 1. They allow for continuity in your photos, and 2. It gives us a chance to adventure around together before the big day and get more comfortable with one another.

How many images will we receive?

This depends on the length of your wedding. You'll receive 50-75 photos per hour, so for most couples that's an average of 400-600 photos. For portrait shoots, it's around 20-30 photos, depending on the length/number of outfit changes/concepts. For shoots that are exclusively conceptual, you'll receive 1-5 photos.

Do you sell prints/products/albums?

I do! I offer all my clients an online gallery, where they can purchase prints and products. It goes through a printing company that I use for all my personal work so I highly recommend it. As far as albums go, I offer a few options for personalized wedding albums that I design myself to best reflect your day in an accurate and artistic way.

Can you work in low/poor lighting?

Yes, though I prefer working with the available light, I carry an external flash for those necessary times. Plus, flash makes for fun dancing photos! Natural light is my love, and we will work together to create a schedule that best utilizes the available light.

When can we expect our photos?

For weddings, you can expect your photos 6-8 weeks after your wedding date. For other sessions, 2-4 weeks. I always post a facebook/instagram preview either the night of or morning after, and for weddings will publish a full blog post 1-2 weeks before your photos are delivered to you, for another fun sneak peek.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
